In this unit we look at the rise of Communist China and North Korea after World War
Two and the Korean War which followed. The unit begins with an introductory video
overview of the war, tracing events from the end of World War Two to the peace settlement
in 1953. It also looks at Australian involvement in the Korean War: including the
Royal Australian Navy (RAN), the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) and the Australian
Army. The air war and the anti-war movement as it developed in the United States,
particularly later in the war are also canvassed.
