Australia in World War Two: An Introduction
Description
In this course, we engage in a broad overview of Australia’s involvement in World
War Two. It consists of an introductory video of 28 minutes duration followed by
a workbook involving 7 learning modules. These include a family research project,
an Ozatwar research task, activities centered around Damien Parer’s famous 1943 film
“Kokoda Front Line!” and the documentary “Kokoda-The Men who saved Australia.” There
is also an RAAF research project, a module on the Z Force Commando base on Fraser
Island and an investigation of the mysterious events surrounding the sinking of HMAS
Sydney and the finding of its lone survivor.
